Diaconia Poland has been coordinating programmes of the international voluntary service since 1998. It’s a member organization of Ecumenical Diaconal Year Network and runs volunteering projects co-financed by European Union in a frame of European Solidarity Corps (previously EVS).
Diaconia Poland sends Polish volunteers abroad as well as hosts foreign volunteers in Poland. It has already coordinated long-term voluntary projects of over 200 young people.
Voluntary service is an opportunity to get new skills and experiences, develop creativity, meet new people, discover new places, learn new language and first of all – help people in need. It is also time, when one can learn something new about him- or herself.
For young people from abroad we offer 9 months voluntary projects in various places in Poland in the area of work with children and youth, seniors and/or people with disabilities.
The volunteers will be supported by the mentor who is an emphatic and open person. Also all the other workers will be open and sensitive for the needs of the volunteer. The volunteer will be also supported by the Diaconia Poland that will organise 3 seminars during the 9 months, and important part of the seminars is the evaluation and giving support to the volunteers in their “project” life. The volunteers will also learn about Poland, its culture, history, traditions, regions etc.
